Craig has some comments on my last mailing:
As always, your email messages put an ear-stretching grin on my face and a radiance in my being. Of course, I'm up against a deadline right now but -ha! - I choose to say hello to you instead. What your message reminded me of is the calm at the center of the storm; in Aikido,
I'm seeking more the place of center, which initially may be a physical position, but ultimately it's that place that is closer to what you are talking about, where we are who we are without struggle or separation. Obviously I'm not there yet but the fog may be lifting. Well, back to my work! And thank you for your work!!
with love,
Craig
Hi Craig,
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to reply
to this email. See my blogs are actually a big argument. It goes something like
this: "You are free"..."No I'm not!"..."Yes you are."
Common sense seems to dictate that we are not quite there yet. But this teaching
is really uncommon sense. That's because here we show how you are already
there.
The tremendous heights that sages like Christ and Buddha described are actually found right at your center. You don't create it; you just discover
what's already true.
Is the me really you?
But since you're a humble guy you have the feeling that, "This couldn't possibly be me." But did you know that "me" isn't really you at all? It is just an
imposture that you assume is you. But in reality you are the space like Awareness that sees that thought called "me."
So just be aware that at any moment you can make that shift from limitation to freedom. A beginner in Aikido might think about the moves quite a bit. But at some point that beginner discovers his or her center, and sees that by standing there everything is managed perfectly well.
In the same way, you can make that shift from standing as the limited "me" to standing as infinite Consciousness. You will then see what your identity really is. In fact it is your own Consciousness that makes everything else seem real. You will see how “the everything” is really the one substance that we call Consciousness. This is how everything in the universe is really connected. Furthermore you will see that standing
here everything is managed perfectly well. Your struggles and your worry are
not needed.
And of course, when the universe goes it doesn't mean that you go. The universe can come and go. But in reality you don't come and go; it is you that remains as this undying Awareness. After all there’s a
reason why you don’t remember your birth and why you can’t conceive of your
death. That’s because they don’t happen to you, only the false sense of
limitation.
Finding support for your practice
This is a more advanced article. If you want a basic understanding of this path, or if you want support as you practice throughout the year go to: www.light-up-your-life.com. Read down the page and enjoy the wonderful pointers to your Self-Nature. Also notice the many links to resources that are available to you.
You can also read through the archives of this blog and you will see how it is possible to find the innate freedom that’s right at your center.
If you would like a step by step approach to getting to your core and finding this freedom, you can get my book, “Making Your Wisdom Come Alive.”
Here questions about this article or other things going on in your life are always welcome; you can write us at michael@ananya.com. I love questions and try to answer them all in this blog. That’s because when you start to question limitation, you are on the verge of destroying it.
Tell your friends
If you enjoy these blogs, tell your friends. Although we don’t have money for advertising, we would love to see everyone who wants to, wake up to the wisdom at their very core.
Best Wishes,
